Exit Humanity Gets Released!
Exit Humanity, a new zombie film set in the Civil War, was released just yesterday and I can’t wait to see it. The production quality seen in the trailer is well, shocking to be honest. The acting looks top-notch, the scenery is gorgeous and moody and dark, and it’s a relatively ignored setting for zombie fiction. I’m excited to see a Civil War zombie flick.
Exit Humanity is a story told through the written and illustrated journal of Edward Young as he battles his way through an unexplainable outbreak of the walking dead a decade after the American Civil War. After returning home from a hunting trip to find a horrific re-animation of his wife Julia, and that their son Adam has disappeared, Edward starts to record his experiences with the walking dead as well as theunexplainable outbreak that has torn his family apart, and threatens all of mankind. Throughout his harrowing journey Edward finds friendship, guidance and love amongst chaos and despair, when all else seems to be lost in a world robbed of its humanity.
An interesting detail about the movie is that the main character, Edward Young, writes in his journal. The filmmakers hired Montreal artist Snezhan Bodurov to illustrate drawings for the film that would coincide with these journal entries to create a film with both live action and animation sequences. This added diversity just makes me more excited to see it.
The film is available on Amazon but you may have to wait a while to get it. It’s already sold out. It’s also available at Wal-Mart, RedBOX, HMV, Comcast and Time Warner VOD, iTunes, Amazon VOD, Best Buy, CinemaNow, BlockBuster OnDemand, Sony PSN VUDU, Xbox / Zune, and lots of other places. Don’t wait. Get your copy now. I’m on my way out the door to Redbox as we speak.
